Hop "luggage that follows you"

Hop suitcase follows you around like a loyal dog

 more details

The Hop is a luggage bag that follows your blue tooth signal from your phone. It uses three receivers that triangulate the signals location. A micro-controller does calculations to keep the bag close. The Hop has a security function that locks itself when lost and a vibration on the phone that will alert you. Hop uses a two-track caterpillar system with compressed air to move.  This probably won't work with stairs though. The project is currently at a prototype stage but hopefully soon this thoughtful creation will be done. This bag may annoy but also help the TSA. I think this is a terrific creation because its a bag that follows you like a robot, which I think is very cool.     link to video

Manmade Gold

Researchers create 24k gold in the lab

Researchers created a 24K gold nugget by feeding large concentrations of toxic gold chloride (also known as liquid gold) to the bacteria Cupriavidus metallidurans. By doing this they made a worthless thing into a very expensive metal. To do this is very expensive in materials and takes about a week to successfully make this. People were said to remark this as reverse engineering natural processes. A portable laboratory made of 24-karat gold-plated hardware, a glass bioreactor, and the Trumpian bacteria stands on display at the Prix Ars Electronica cyber art competition in Austria until October 7.
This is a cross between microbiology and alchemy and the experiment is currently taking place at Michigan State University. I believe this could impact the prices of gold but I don't know how much since the materials do cost a lot more than the gold being made.

Boeing 747-8, Dreamliner get prepped for cell phone use

                      more info

It is said that the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental, 787 Dreamliners, and other 777s will be ready for cell phone use by 2013. The company also says they are trying to find ways to outfit these planes with live TV, cell phone usage, and"Internet access using in-flight entertainment.". The company says they can support wireless streaming media by 2014. There are many problems that come with this tough as for example that the cell phone usage depends on the countries the planes are in or over. This is apparently banned by the Federal Aviation Administration, in the USA. This can bring great things as more as entertainment for long trips or can also help working people with their jobs and ability to be more efficient. Though this could also increase terrorism in some way which is why the United States Government must decide if they can take this opportunity.
